Behind closed doors

Behind closed doors, a lot of things can happen. When the key is turned and the mind wanders free, thoughts can turn into actions, and words can take on an entirely different tone.
In like a lion, out like a lamb, Marco Joe Fazio meets luxury lifestyle brand 210th when working on a project with MyHotels Group for Valentine’s Day. On the couch, a synergy takes place, and behind the camera, the photographer sees the vision.
Sophie Rockwell, the mind behind 210th packages, has been enticing a good dose of adult entertainment all wrapped up in a modern-day Pandora’s Box. It’s time to see what’s in the box.
‘Life is Like a Box of Chocolates’, remember?
However, this package has a slightly different sweetness to it. Ours brings mystery into the equation. 210th offers couples the chance to rediscover the simple pleasures between two people; communication and intimacy. Exchange the dark truffle for one of the seven accessories available in the Classic Box. Or, if truth or dare is more your thing, then risk opening one of the assignments hidden away in the black envelopes. “Draw each other naked! Think Titanic!”
So when we came on set with MyHotels and 210th, it was time to let the creativity take form. Due to limited time and resources, My Hotels asked our team to dress the scene using props to imagine the lived stories of a couple of lovers… without showing them! No time for a storyboard, meticulous pre-production, scene descriptions, mood boards and all the usual suspects to create and develop the concept.
The brief was simply the “aftermath scene at the hotel’s 210th Suite”.
With the use of props in lieu of models, the task was alluring future clients with a box of goodies. Igniting their desire was paramount, tickling their imagination to the endless possibilities of what could happen with the 210th box in their hands.
Marco Joe Fazio and his team conceived this small production around a tagline:
Forget the Roses and leave your inhibitions at the door this Valentine’s day.
Then, they produced a shoot that sparked 210th interest for future collaborations.
The essence of mjf’s space & style photographic technique can easily be adopted by all hospitality industries – boutique hotels, spa resorts, charming restaurants – to best portray their unique offerings creatively and artistically.
